Tom Davies.

I’m a freelance producer, with a background heavily in television advertising (with a dash of drama thrown in).

I’ve had the good fortune to produce for a range of production companies & agencies, including The Sweetshop, Guilty, Flare / Clemenger BBDO, McCann, Hogarth, AJF / First Floor Films, Florence (US), Wildebeest, Sportsbet and LateNite Films among others.

In TVC world I’ve done everything from car jobs with low loaders, arm cars and police escorts to travel and tourism shoots to a helicopter filming a Hercules C130 mid-air to historical recreations chronicling 200 years of AusPost to talent sitting on a stool in front of a green screen delivering one line. I’ve also bid and line produced multiple facilitation jobs and I’ve had a chance to work in every state and territory in the country (except WA but I married a Western Australian so feel that kind of counts for something).

On the more creative side, I was fortunate to be the recipient of the 2020 AACTA Award for Best Short Film, for my producing work on The Mirror. Back in 2019 I also produced The Legend Of Burnout Barry with the team at LateNite Films which was made as part of the DisRupted Initiative and premiered on ABC Me. Recently I completed work on Invasion, an action proof of concept for a feature and I’ve also done more than my share of shorts and music videos.

I’m also really obsessed with food. Making it, eating it and reading about it. In 2021, I, along with my wife, decided to open a restaurant as a low stress side hustle and despite some challenges (COVID, lockdowns, worst staffing crisis in a generation) we hit Broadsheet’s “Best Mexican” list the last two years all while setting it up to run independently of us.
